Industry of All Nations brings productions back to the original makers.
One commodity we found in the bustling street markets in Kenya is a shoe that our local partner has been handcrafting and selling for some time. For over 40 years, they have produced classic, comfortable, and reliable shoes sold exclusively in these outdoor “sokos” across Kenya and in a few neighboring regions. For the first time ever, these shoes are available outside of Africa as Industry of All Nations is thrilled to share the Kenyatas with people of the world.
On the eastern coast of Africa lies Mombasa, a port city in Kenya that has long existed as a hub of regional trade. Bordering the Indian Ocean, this area has thrived as a commercial center of East African trade for centuries.
On site at their factory are communal based apartment complexes built specifically for employees to alleviate long commutes. The once small town of Mtwapa in the countryside of Mombasa has grown from a small village to a thriving town where families enjoy the benefits of free training and medical care. We are proud to collaborate with our local partner to create environmentally and socially conscious products
Aside from manufacturing appealing shoes, our local partner has also been a stimulating force in Kenya. Employing 1,600 people and establishing themselves as one of Mombasa’s lifeblood industries, they have not only become a solid pillar of the East African economy, but also a catalyst for socially conscious industries.
he Narrative of the Kenyan People
Our partner had previously been manufacturing tag-less and size-less shoes. The simple, anonymous design appealed to us and we wanted to find a way to tell their story to a wider audience. Now in stores all over the world, each pair of Kenyatas is embellished with a tag of Kenya’s national flag and proudly carries with it the narrative of the Kenyan people.
